The City University of New York Athletic Conference annually recognizes its best and brightest student-athletes, who not only excel in athletics, but succeed in the classroom as well. Over the next few weeks, CUNYAC will recognize those who truly embody what it means to be a student-athlete.
Steven Towler, a member of the John Jay College men's soccer team, boasts a strong 3.673 grade-point average. A member of the renowned Forensic Science program, Towler majors in Toxicology.
A team leader, Towler made history for the Bloodhounds. The goalkeeper appeared in 38 career games and tallied 11 wins, seven shutouts, and 186 saves. In the 2019 CUNYAC postseason, he allowed only two goals in three games, including converting on the game-winning penalty kick goal in the semifinals. In the championship, the Port Jefferson Station, NY native picked up eight saves and a shutout to lead the program to its first-ever CUNYAC Men's Soccer Championship.
