The City University of New York Athletic Conference annually recognizes its best and brightest student-athletes, who not only excel in athletics, but succeed in the classroom as well. Over the next few weeks, CUNYAC will recognize those who truly embody what it means to be a student-athlete.
Victor Carrano, a member of the Baruch College men's cross country team, boasts a 3.89 grade-point average. The Stony Point native is majoring in Finance and is a Macaulay Honors College student.
A team captain, Carrano made an immediate impact as a freshman, earning CUNYAC Rookie of the Week honors and three ECAC Metro Runner of the Week citations. At his very first conference championship meet, he finished among the top-10 to earn CUNYAC All-Star status.
Carrano continued to excel for the Bearcats, earning all-conference accolades as a sophomore and junior, highlighted by an eighth-place finish at the 2019 CUNYAC Cross Country Championships. He was also voted Baruch Men's Cross Country MVP in each of those campaigns.
In addition, the long-distance runner was also Baruch's top finisher at the 2019 NCAA Division III Atlantic Region Cross Country Championships.
Outside of athletics, Carrano was a member of the CUNY Service Corp that traveled to Puerto Rico in 2019 to assist in repairing homes damaged by Hurricane Maria.
