The City University of New York Athletic Conference annually recognizes its best and brightest student-athletes, who not only excel in athletics, but succeed in the classroom as well. Over the next few weeks, CUNYAC will recognize those who truly embody what it means to be a student-athlete.
Briana Schmidt, a two-sport student-athlete at John Jay College, carries a near-perfect 3.968 grade-point average, majoring in Forensic Psychology and Criminology with a minor in Spanish.
Schmidt is a scholar-athlete in every aspect and competes on the women's tennis and softball teams. A CUNYAC All-Star and Team MVP in women's tennis, the righty finished 14-9 in singles and 17-7 in doubles, highlighted by an impressive 14-7 record in conference play.
On the softball field, the middle infielder started every game of her career while tallying 11 hits, nine runs, seven walks, and five stolen bases.
The Comfrey, MN native serves on the John Jay Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) Executive Board.
