The City University of New York Athletic Conference annually recognizes its best and brightest student-athletes, who not only excel in athletics, but succeed in the classroom as well. Over the next few weeks, CUNYAC will recognize those who truly embody what it means to be a student-athlete.
Anton Kyrylenko, a member of the Lehman College men's swimming team, boasts a near-perfect 3.933 grade-point average. The Macaulay Honors College student majors in Chemistry.
A three-year letter winner and men's team captain during the 2019-20 campaign, Kyrylenko captured the silver medal in the 400-yard IM (4:58.51) and bronze in the 200-yard breaststroke (2:25.77) at the 2020 conference championships. The Bronx native took part in all 10 meets with the Lightning in 2019-20 and won the 50-yard and 100-yard breaststroke events at Western Connecticut. Anton also claimed first-place in the 50-yard breaststroke (30.54), 200-yard IM (2:25.39), 100-yard breaststroke (1:10.28) and was on the winning side in the 200-yard medley relay (1:56.46) at Purchase, while capturing the gold in the 50-yard freestyle
at a time of 24.80.
Kyrylenko was selected a CUNYAC All-Star and named Phi Beta Kappa, one of the most prestigious honor societies in the country.
