The City University of New York Athletic Conference annually recognizes its best and brightest student-athletes, who not only excel in athletics, but succeed in the classroom as well. Over the next few weeks, CUNYAC will recognize those who truly embody what it means to be a student-athlete.
Sarina Eshtiaghi, a member of the Lehman College women’s swimming team, owns a strong 3.613 grade-point average with a major in Biology.
Eshtiaghi will be remembered as one of the most accomplished swimmers in team and conference history. The Mamaroneck native added more accolades to her trophy case in 2019-20, winning every dual meet event she was entered in. A two-time CUNYAC Swimmer of the Week, she was tabbed Most Valuable Performer at the 2020 CUNYAC Swimming and Diving Championships, winning three gold medals, including a pair of record-breaking performances. It was the second consecutive year that Eshtiaghi was voted MVP of the conference championship meet.
At the conclusion of the campaign, she was voted CUNYAC Female Performer of the Year.
Outside of the pool, Sarina was selected CUNYAC Scholar-Athlete of the Month in December of 2018.
