The City University of New York Athletic Conference annually recognizes its best and brightest student-athletes, who not only excel in athletics, but succeed in the classroom as well. Over the next few weeks, CUNYAC will recognize those who truly embody what it means to be a student-athlete.
Rene Clever, a member of the Lehman College cross country and track and field teams, owns an impressive 3.984 grade-point average. The Brooklyn native majors in Computer Science with a minor in Management.
In 2019-20, Clever was tabbed a CUNYAC All-Star, earning gold in the weight throw at the CUNYAC Indoor Track & Field Championships with a heave of 10.04-meters. The senior also recorded a top-10 finish in the shot put (7.97m).
Clever was selected to the Jeannette K. Watson Fellowship, which develops the personal, professional and cultural potential of remarkable students to become effective and humane leaders. Selection criteria include leadership, ability to work in teams, ambition, openness to new perspectives and communication skills, academic excellence, and integrity.
Rene is also a Tech Team Intern at The Wall Street Journal.
