The City University of New York Athletic Conference annually recognizes its best and brightest student-athletes, who not only excel in athletics, but succeed in the classroom as well. Over the next few weeks, CUNYAC will recognize those who truly embody what it means to be a student-athlete.
Lejla Redzematovic, a member of the Baruch College women's tennis team, owns a 3.94 grade-point average with a major in Finance.
A two-year team captain, the Whitestone native was a two-time CUNYAC Second Team All-Star. She was voted onto the 2019 CUNYAC All-Sportsmanship Team and was tabbed CUNYAC Rookie of the Week in 2017.
In addition, Lejla was named to the 2019-20 Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Scholar-Athlete List. In both the Spring 2020 and Fall 2019 semesters, she was also on the Baruch Athletic Director's Academic Honor Roll.
Lejla will be attending graduate school this Fall at Columbia University, getting her master's in Pharmaceutical Bio Statistics. Off the court, Lejla has served as a ball girl at the U.S. Open Tennis Championships in Queens.
