The City University of New York Athletic Conference annually recognizes its best and brightest student-athletes, who not only excel in athletics, but succeed in the classroom as well. Over the next few weeks, CUNYAC will recognize those who truly embody what it means to be a student-athlete.
Darrell Ambersley, a member of the Medgar Evers College men's soccer team, carries a strong 3.371 grade-point average with a major in Mathematics.
A native of Portmore, Jamaica, the team co-captain racked up eight goals and two assists in 27 career matches, playing multiple positions throughout his time in a Cougars uniform.
Off the pitch, Ambersley works in the Bursar Office of Medgar Evers College. He also tutors students on campus and serves as the Treasurer for the institution's Math Society. Through his hard work, Ambersley earned scholarships from the Community Council of Medgar Evers College and the campus math department.
2020-21 CUNYAC Scholar Athlete of the Year
