The City University of New York Athletic Conference annually recognizes its best and brightest student-athletes, who not only excel in athletics, but succeed in the classroom as well. Over the next few weeks, CUNYAC will recognize those who truly embody what it means to be a student-athlete.
Remi Laurence, a member of the Brooklyn College men's tennis team, carries a strong 3.84 grade-point average. The Bronxville native is a Macaulay Honors College student, majoring in Mathematics and Economics.
In his first year of college tennis, Laurence did not disappoint, going 10-4 (5-0 CUNYAC) in doubles and 3-3 in singles, appearing in four different slots throughout the campaign. For his solid play, he was voted a Second Team CUNYAC All-Star while leading the Bulldogs to a spot in the CUNYAC Men's Tennis Championship semifinals.
Off the court, Laurence has been working on a CUNY Tech Prep fellowship since August and has interned at financial and medical institutions, including time as a researcher at City College. In addition, Remi has been an instructor teaching basic life support, while having experience tutoring math to high school students.
