At the 2020 CUNYAC Swimming Championships, Helmy recorded a pair of top-five performances in the 200-yard fly and 1650-yard freestyle, helping Hunter capture its 11th conference title in team history and first since the 2016-17 campaign. At the conclusion of the season, Helmy was the recipient of CUNYAC's Sportsmanship Award.

Upon graduation, Helmy will continue her academic career at the University of Rochester School of Medicine.
