The City University of New York Athletic Conference annually recognizes its best and brightest student-athletes, who not only excel in athletics, but succeed in the classroom as well. Over the next few weeks, CUNYAC will recognize those who truly embody what it means to be a student-athlete.
Esteban De Los Santos, a member of the Bronx Community College baseball team, carries an impressive 3.73 grade-point average, majoring in Exercise Science and Kinesiology.
In 2019, the right-handed pitcher played a pivotal role in leading the Broncos to their first CUNYAC Community College Baseball title since 2015. De Los Santos posted an unblemished 7-0 record with a terrific 3.48 ERA. The hurler struck out a team-best 39 batters and earned the save in the championship game against Kingsborough.
In addition, De Los Santos picked up the win in the Broncos' lone victory at the NJCAA Region XV Baseball Championship against the Wave.
A tremendous scholar, De Los Santos was selected to the NJCAA Region XV All-Academic Team and was named to the NJCAA All-Academic Third Team. He also earned a spot on the 2019-20 CUNYAC Winter/Spring Scholar-Athlete Honor Roll.
