CUNYAC Scholar Athlete of the Year: Avery Maillet, CCNY

The City University of New York Athletic Conference annually recognizes its best and brightest student-athletes, who not only excel in athletics, but succeed in the classroom as well. Over the next few weeks, CUNYAC will recognize those who truly embody what it means to be a student-athlete.

Avery Maillet, a member of the City College of New York women's track and field program, boasts a strong 3.71 grade-point average, majoring in Psychology.

Maillet is one of the most decorated athletes in program and conference history. Avery is a four-time NCAA All-American and two-time CUNYAC Track Performer of the Year. Maillet qualified for the NCAA Championships three times, highlighted by an eighth-place showing in the long jump at the 2019 outdoor championships.

Most importantly, Maillet helped the Beavers capture the CUNYAC Indoor Track & Field Championship in each of the last three seasons and the outdoor title in back-to-back campaigns.

In addition, Maillet is a two-time USTFCCCA Academic All-American and has been named to the Dean's List and Athletic Director's Honor Roll each semester.
