The City University of New York Athletic Conference annually recognizes its best and brightest student-athletes, who not only excel in athletics, but succeed in the classroom as well. Over the next few weeks, CUNYAC will recognize those who truly embody what it means to be a student-athlete.
Meni Musheyev, a member of the Baruch College men's volleyball team, holds a stellar 3.7 grade-point average. The 2020 CUNYAC Player of the Year is majoring in Finance with a minor in Mathematics.
A team captain, Musheyev led the Bearcats to the 2019 CUNYAC Men's Volleyball Championship, upsetting Hunter in five sets to earn the league's automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament.
In 2020, Musheyev was one of the most efficient hitters in all of NCAA Division III, posting a .407 hitting percentage, ranked No. 1 in the CUNYAC and No. 8 in the country. In addition to earning conference Player of the Year accolades, Musheyev was named to the American Volleyball Coaches Association (A.V.C.A.) Regional All-Star team.
Off the court, Meni interned with the New York-Presbyterian Hospital during the pandemic, helping source essential PPE items.
