EIGHT IS GREAT: Baruch Wins Eighth Straight CUNYAC Men's Swimming and Diving Championship

CHAMPIONSHIP CENTRAL | FINAL RESULTS

BRONX, N.Y. - Baruch College wrapped up its eighth straight CUNY Athletic Conference men's swimming and diving championship on Sunday on the third and final day of competition at the Lehman College APEX.  The Bearcats finished the meet with 418 points, outdistancing Brooklyn College, which finished with 224 points.

York (51) and Lehman (35) rounded out the field.

Baruch junior Ramiel Fayngersh was named the championship's Most Outstanding Performer.  He finished with three individual event victories, adding a win in the 200 yard breaststroke (2:12.86) to his earlier victories in the 100 butterfly and 200 individual medley. He was also a part of the Bearcats' 200 freestyle, 400 freestyle, 800 freestyle and 400 medley relay victories. 

Brooklyn's Michael Kravets also finished the championship with three individual wins. On Sunday he was victorious in the 200 butterfly (2:00.84) in addition to his earlier first place finishes in the 200 free and 500 free.

Baruch swimmers captured three other first place finishes on the final day.  Gregory Terentyev was first in the 1650 freestyle with a time of 18:49.79.  Tenzin Gurung posted his second win of the meet in the 200 backstroke (2:03.34), while Alex Boyarsky posted his second win of the championship in the 100 freestyle (47.72).

The Bearcats also finished first in the 400 freestyle relay (3:14.62).
