VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. -
The John Jay College softball team saw its 2026 campaign come to a close on Friday afternoon as Pfeiffer University earned a 13-0 victory in five innings during NCAA Division III Regional action in Virginia Beach.

Pfeiffer wasted little time jumping in front in the top of the first inning. After Landry Stewart walked and stole both second and third, she scored the game's opening run on a throwing error behind the plate. Later in the inning, Brooke Piper delivered an RBI single to left field before another wild pitch allowed Piper to score, giving the Falcons a 3-0 advantage.

John Jay threatened in the bottom half when Kendal Bryant ripped a two-out double to left center, but the Falcons escaped the frame without further damage.

Pfeiffer added three more runs in the second inning. Ky Perdue and Stewart opened the inning with bunt singles before both advanced into scoring position with steals. A wild pitch brought home Perdue, and Piper followed with a towering two-run homer to left field to extend the lead to 6-0.

The Falcons continued to apply pressure in the third. After multiple walks and stolen bases loaded the bases, Mollie Bulla delivered the biggest hit of the inning, lining a three-run double to left field to make it 9-0.

John Jay starter Lindsay Ogden battled through three innings in the circle, striking out two over 90 pitches before Adrianna Barragan entered in relief during the fourth inning.

Pfeiffer added two more runs in the fourth when Micah Felts doubled down the left-field line, plating two runners to push the margin to 11-0. The Falcons capped the scoring in the fifth on RBI extra-base hits from E.A. Nance and Camryn Kaminski.

Pfeiffer finished with 10 hits in the victory and was led offensively by Piper, who went 2-for-3 with a home run and three RBIs. Bulla added three RBIs, while Felts contributed a two-run double. Stewart scored three runs and stole four bases as part of Pfeiffer's relentless attack on the basepaths.

In the circle, Bulla earned the win after tossing four scoreless innings, allowing just two hits while striking out two. Peyton Lane also worked a scoreless inning in relief as the Falcons combined for the shutout.

For the Bloodhounds, Bryant accounted for both of the team's hits, finishing 2-for-2 with a double and a single. John Jay was limited to just two baserunners outside of Bryant, drawing walks from Sidney Bankston and Kiki Iglesias.

Despite the setback, the Bloodhounds closed the 2026 season with an 18-22 overall record and captured their fourth straight league title and fifth in program history.
