2026 CUNYAC Softball Major Awards, All-Conference Announced

NEW YORK – The City University of New York Athletic Conference (CUNYAC) has announced its All-Conference awards and team for the 2026 softball season.

Baruch sophomore Jules Wychunas was tabbed as the league's Player of the Year, while John Jay junior Lindsay Ogden was selected as the Pitcher of the Year for the second straight year.  Brooklyn's Addy Cook was voted Rookie of the Year, while Baruch head coach Ciro Gentile was named Coach of the Year.  Brooklyn's Jenna Hood is the recipient of the Sportsmanship Award.

Player of the Year: Jules Wychunas, Baruch
Wychunas, a sophomore infielder for the Bearcats, led Baruch and ranked third in the conference in batting average (.399) while leading in slugging percentage (.678) and OPS (1.142).  She belted three home runs and drove in 35, while also hitting 13 doubles and eight triples.  Wychunas is the first Player of the Year for the Bearcats since Carly Quint in 2022.

Pitcher of the Year: Lindsay Ogden, John Jay
Ogden repeats as Pitcher of the Year, the first pitcher in the conference to do so since Staten Island's Jacqueline Cautela in 2014 and 2015.  Named the MVP of the CUNYAC Softball Championship for the third straight season last week, Ogden currently sports a 3.91 earned run average, 12-10 record and 136 strikeouts in 138 innings of work.  In conference play this season she was 5-1 with a 0.47 ERA and 58 strikeouts in 45 innings.

Rookie of the Year: Addy Cook, Brooklyn
The leader of a young Bulldog core, Cook, a two-time conference Player of the Week, batted .405 this season with 27 runs batted in, 33 runs scored and a .471 slugging percentage.  She is the first Rookie of the Year in softball for Brooklyn since Chrissy Heyer in 2015.

Coach of the Year: Ciro Gentile, Baruch
Gentile, in his first season at the helm of the Bearcats, guided a team that was tabbed fourth in the preseason poll to an 8-2 conference mark, the No. 1 seed in the conference championship, and the program's first CUNYAC regular season title since 2013.  He is the first Baruch coach to cop Coach of the Year since Nicole Bellini in 2022.
