AMHERST, Mass. - The Hunter College women's tennis team saw its historic season come to a close in the opening round of the NCAA Regionals, falling to Moravian University after entering the tournament on the heels of an undefeated regular season and a second consecutive CUNYAC Championship.

The Hawks opened the match with momentum in doubles play as the duo of Jade Schoenfeld and Isabella Tchij secured a 6-3 victory in the day's first completed match. Moravian, however, responded by taking the remaining two doubles contests by scores of 6-2 and 6-3 to claim the doubles point.

The Greyhounds carried that momentum into singles action, winning the first three completed matches in straight sets to secure the 4-0 team victory and end the match before the remaining contests could be completed.

Despite the loss, Hunter capped off an impressive campaign that included a conference championship and a 12-1 overall record.
