CUNYAC/HSS Scholar-Athlete of the Year Honorable Mention: Rebecca D’Aloia, Staten Island

The City University of New York Athletic Conference annually recognizes its best and brightest student-athletes, who not only excel in athletics, but succeed in the classroom as well. Over the next few weeks, CUNYAC will recognize those who truly embody what it means to be a student-athlete. The award is presented by Hospital for Special Surgery, the official hospital of the CUNY Athletic Conference.

Rebecca D'Aloia, a member of the College of Staten Island women's soccer team, owns a 3.57 grade-point average, majoring in English Linguistics.

On the pitch, D'Aloia was a four-year letter winner for the Dolphins, making 68 appearances with 65 starts. A stout defender, the Bronx native also contributed two goals and five assists for nine points, helping Staten Island go 27-1-2 against CUNYAC opponents, postseason included. In 2019, D'Aloia played in all 13 games against NCAA DII and DIII competition, earning CUNYAC First Team All-Star recognition.

This winter, D'Aloia lent her athleticism to CSI's Indoor Track and Field team, where she won CUNYAC's silver medal in the 60-meter dash while helping set the school record in the 4x200m relay.
