Williamstown, Mass. - The 2025 CUNYAC women's soccer champions, the John Jay College Bloodhounds, season came to an end on Saturday morning, as the Bloodhounds fell to the No. 10 Williams College Ephs, 5-0, at Cole Field in the NCAA Division III First Round.
John Jay finishes the season at 11-3-3 overall while going a perfect 4-0 in conference matches under head coach
Ajani Clunie. No. 10 Williams, who improves to 13-2-4, will take on the University of MaryWashington on Sunday afternoon. Mary Washington advances to the Second Round after posting a 1-0 win over the No. 20 Vassar College.
The Ephs tallied four first-half goals, as Brianna Wright netted two goals nearly ten minutes apart. The Bloodhounds increased their defensive intensity in the second half, conceding only a goal in the 61st minute.
Junior
Anina Gut had a career morning in goal for the Bloodhounds. The Zurich, Switzerland native made 16 saves on 21 shots faced. Gut made nine stops in the second half.
The 16 saves made by Gut set the new John Jay all-time single-game saves mark in an NCAA Tournament game, surpassing former Bloodhound and current assistant coach
Alexa Pyatsky's total of 12, which she set in 2022 against then-No. 3 Christopher Newport.
