CUNYAC Women's Swimming Swimmer of the Week
Allyse Alexander, Baruch (Jr., Astoria, N.Y.)
Alexander delivered a standout performance in the Bearcats’ meet against Division II Staten Island Monday, recording one event victory and three second-place finishes. Highlighting her afternoon was a commanding win in the 200 Butterfly, where she touched first with a time of 2:25.42. She added a pair of strong runner-up individual performances, finishing second in both the 200 Freestyle (2:12.33) and 200 Breaststroke (2:45.76). She helped guide Baruch to a second-place finish in the 200 Medley Relay (2:03.37).
CUNYAC Women's Swimming Rookie of the Week
Antonietta Baerga, Brooklyn (Fr., Brooklyn, N.Y.)
Baerga won the 100 breaststroke (1:18.05) , took second in the 50 breaststroke (36.03) and placed third in the 100 individual medley (1:15.49) in Brooklyn's regular season finale on Wednesday against Staten Island.
CUNYAC Women's Swimming Swimmer of the Week (Honorable Mention)
Grace Valette, Hunter (Fr., Boulder, Colo.)
In Hunter's win over York Thursdal, Valette took home gold in the 800m freestyle, as she touched in the wall in 9:55.88, before earning another first place finish in the 100m freestyle with her time of 1:03.67.
