CUNYAC Women's Swimming Swimmer of the Week
Kira Chen, Baruch (Sr., Fresh Meadows, N.Y.)
Chen picked up a pair of victories in the backstroke in each of Baruch's first two meets. Against Ramapo she took the 100 backstroke in 1:05.63 and the 200 backstroke in 2:27.02. Against William Paterson she swam the 100 in 1:05.03 and the 200 in 2:24.48.
CUNYAC Women's Swimming Rookie of the Week
Sophia Lengyel, Baruch (Fr., Astoria, N.Y.)
In the season opener against Ramapo, Lengyel was part of the Bearcats' 200 freestyle relay that took first (1:51.46) and placed third in the 100 (1:25.06) and 200 (2:35.22) breaststroke. Against William Paterson she was also part of the winnintg 200 free relay (1:50.15) and took second in the 100 backstroke (1:10.80).
CUNYAC Women's Swimming Swimmer of the Week (Honorable Mention)
Elizabeth Bailey-Hamm, Brooklyn (So., Brooklyn, N.Y.)
Bailey-Hamm took first in the 100 fly and came in second in the 200 IM in the Bulldogs' season opener against Mount Saint Mary on Saturday. She swam the 200 IM in 2:58.69 and touched the wall first in the 100 fly with a time of 1:13.26.
