CUNYAC Women's Swimming Swimmer of the Week
Allyse Alexander, Baruch (Jr., Astoria, N.Y.)
Alexander set a conference record in the 100 butterfly at the ECAC Winter Championships, posting a time of 58.87 seconds. In the 200 butterfly she placed 12th overall (2:13.60) while also competing individually in the 200 IM (2:18.37) and the 100 breaststroke (1:12.93). Alexander also competed in four relays for the Bearcats.
CUNYAC Women's Swimming Rookie of the Week
Grace Valette, Hunter (Fr., Boulder, Colo.)
Valette broke the conference record in the 100 freestyle (54.04 seconds) at the ECAC Winter Championships, placing 21st overall. She also narrowly missed the conference record in the 200 freestyle (1:58.27), just shy of the record of 1:58.20. Valette also competed in the 100 backstroke (1:02.32) and the 200 backstroke (2:17.32).
CUNYAC Women's Swimming Swimmer of the Week (Honorable Mention)
Elizabeth Bailey-Hamm, Brooklyn (So., Brooklyn, N.Y.)
On November 25, Bailey-Hamm won the 50 (26.86) and 100 (1:00.97) freestyle events at St. Joseph's Long Island. She would win the 50 free (27.05) and the 500 (6:53.41) freestyle in Brooklyn's CUNYAC victory over Lehman on Wednesday. She closed out the week by finishing first in the 50 freestyle (25.81) and coming in second in the 100 freestyle (59.59) on Saturday against William Paterson.
