CHAMPIONSHIP CENTRAL | FRIDAY RESULTS
BRONX, N.Y. - Hunter College leads after day one of the 2026 CUNY Athletic Conference Men's Swimming and Diving Championship being held at The APEX at Lehman College.
The Hawks, who have won the last five CUNYAC women's swimming and diving championships, compiled 76 points on day one of competition. Baruch sits second with 64 points, followed by John Jay (50), Brooklyn (29) and Lehman (16).
Baruch took a pair of relay victories. In the 200 freestyle relay, the Bearcats finished in a time of 1:42.09, edging Hunter by 1.1 seconds. In the 400 medley relay Baruch finished in a time of 4:17.13.
In the 200 freestyle relay, Baruch's Allyse Alexander set a new championship and overall conference record by swimming the opening 50-yard leg in 24.62 seconds, breaking her own record of 24.97 set last season.
Hunter's Grace Valette took first in the 500 yard freestyle, posting a time of 5:29.88 to outdistance her nearest competitor, Baruch's Kaetlyn Chavez by 30.28 seconds.
Alexander, the reigning Championship MVP, took first in the 200 IM, swimming in 2:22.60 to outdistance John Jay's Aydan Damirova (2:28.58).
Brooklyn's Elizabeth Bailey-Hamm placed first in the 50 freestyle, winning with a time of 25.91 seconds, ahead of Hunter's Lily Bradshaw (26.34).
The 2026 CUNYAC Women's Swimming and Diving Championship resumes Saturday at 10 am at the Lehman APEX.
