SIX IN A ROW: Hunter Captures Sixth Straight CUNYAC Women's Swimming and Diving Crown

BRONX, N.Y. - Hunter College wrapped up its sixth straight and conference-record 16th overall CUNY Athletic Conference women's swimming and diving championship on Sunday as the three-day championship wrapped up at the Lehman APEX.

The Hawks finished with 267 points to beat out Baruch College, which finished with 230.  John Jay (148), Brooklyn (117) and Lehman (23) rounded out the top five.

Baruch's Allyse Alexander was named the championship Most Valuable Performer for the second straight season.  She totaled three individual event victories, including in the 200 butterfly on Sunday (2:15.98), after winning the 100 breaststroke and 200 individual medley earlier in the championship.  Alexander was also part of four Baruch relay victories in the 200 freestyle, 400 freestyle, 400 medley and 800 medley relays.  Swimming the opening leg of the 200 free Friday, she broke her own conference championship record in the 50 freestyle (24.62).

Hunter's Grace Valette also had three individual event victories during the meet.  On Sunday she was victorious in the 1650 freestyle (19:13.45) after earlier winning in the 500 freestyle and 100 backstroke.  She was also part of the Hawks' winning 800 freestyle relay entry on Saturday.

Baruch's Kira Chen took first in the 200 backstroke Sunday (2:16.17), with the Bearcats Kaetlyn Chavez touching the wall first in the 100 freestyle (56.97).  Baruch also won the 400 free relay in 3:47.58.

John Jay's Aydan Damirova placed first in the 200 breaststroke with a time of 2:42.78.
