NEW YORK – The City University of New York Athletic Conference (CUNYAC) announced its All-Conference awards and team for the 2026 women’s outdoor track & field season Tuesday afternoon.
Medgar Evers' standout rookie Brianna Lindo swept the Track Athlete of the Year, Field Athlete of the Year and Rookie of the Year honors. Hunter head coach Marvin Hawkins was named the league's Coach of the Year, while CCNY's Karuna Aikawa was voted the recipient of the Sportsmanship Award.
Track Athlete of the Year, Field Athlete of the Year, Rookie of the Year: Brianna Lindo, Medgar Evers
Lindo captured a total of 13 weekly awards this spring, winning Track Athlete of the Week five times, Field Athlete of the Week three times and Rookie of the Week all six weeks it was awarded. She was named Championship MVP after winning nine events at the conference championship, taking home first in the 100 (12.61), 200 (25.87), 400 (59.54), 100 meter hurdles (15.37) and 400 hurdles (1:09.64). In field events, Lindo was first in the hammer throw (30.19m), triple jump (10.18m), high jump (1.46m) and long jump (4.85m). She sits in the top five in the conference in 11 different events, including ranking first in seven.
Coach of the Year: Marvin Hawkins, Hunter
Hawkins was voted Coach of the Year in women's outdoor track and field for the fourth straight season. In 2026, he guided the Hawks to their sixth straight outdoor title. Hunter owns five top marks in the conference and took gold in five events at the conference championship.
