Baruch Women Finish Second at Metro Championships

PISCATAWAY, N.J.
- The Baruch College women's swimming team placed second at the 2025 Metropolitan Swimming Championships hosted Friday through Sunday at Rutgers University.  The Bearcats totaled 995 points to place second behind Division II Roberts Wesleyan, who finished with 1,039 points.

John Jay came in sixth with 511 points, followed by Brooklyn, which tallied 410 points.  Hunter came in eighth with 395 points for the meet.

Baruch took down six individual victories and had three relay wins to their credit.  2024-25 CUNYAC Women's Swimmer of the Year Allyse Alexander had three victories, coming in first in the 100 butterfly (59.47), the 200 fly (2:14.91) and the 200 individual medley (2:143.03).

The Bearcats' Kira Chen also had three victories, claiming gold in the 100 backstroke (1:02.19), the 200 back (2:14.83) and the 400 IM (4:55.64). Kaetlyn Chavez placed second behind Chen in the 100 (1:03.71) and 200 (2:18.89) backstroke.

Baruch also took first in the 200 freestyle relay (1:42.39), the 200 medley (1:54.19) and the 400 medley (4:14.64).

John Jay's Miranda Perez found herself on the podium three times, coming in second in the 100 freestyle (55.98) and the 100 breaststroke (1:09.72).  Perez also placed third in the 50 freestyle (25.34).

Anastasia Kutuzov of Brooklyn won bronze twice, coming in third in the 200 breaststroke (2:38.05) and the 100 butterfly (1:03.41).
