Hunter Welcomes Julia Vasconez as Head Swim Coach

New York, N.Y.- Hunter College is proud to announce Julia Vasconez as the new Head Coach for the Women's Swimming Team. Julia brings a strong blend of leadership, coaching experience, and an impressive academic background that will greatly enhance the team's success.

A former collegiate swimmer herself, Julia completed four years of swimming at SUNY Buffalo State, where she was a Scholar-Athlete for three semesters and made the Dean's List twice. Her firsthand experience as a competitive swimmer, combined with her education in Sports Administration at the University of Miami, positions her as an exceptional leader for the Hunter College swimming program.

As Head Coach, Julia will oversee the recruitment and development of student-athletes, prepare tactical strategies for meets, and ensure a positive, competitive team environment. In addition, she brings valuable experience from her previous roles as a coach for various sports teams, including co-ed flag football and girls' volleyball. Her background in life-guarding and safety training further strengthens her qualifications for fostering a safe and successful swimming team.

We are excited to welcome Julia Vasconez and look forward to the growth and success she will bring to the Women's Swimming Team at Hunter College.
