CUNYAC Women's Basketball Player of the Week
Francess Henry, Baruch
Guard/Graduate/Brooklyn, NY/Midwood

Francess Henry has been named the CUNYAC Women's Basketball Player of the Week for the week of 1/12/15 - 1/18/15. The guard averaged 18 points, 8.5 rebounds, 4 steals and 8 assist while logging 66 minutes in two games for the week. In Baruch’s 70-56 win versus their rival Lehman College, Henry scored 16 points, grabbed nine rebounds and notched four assists. The senior then shot 7-12 from the floor, while scoring 20 points with eight rebounds in a 83- 57 victory over CCNY. The Midwood graduate tallied her 1000th career point in the win. Baruch is now 12-4 overall and 9-0 in the conference.

CUNYAC Women's Basketball Rookie of the Week

Christina Pasaturo has been named the CUNYAC Women's Basketball Rookie of the Week for the week of 1/12/15 - 1/18/15. This marks her eighth consecutive Rookie of the Week honor as she continues her sweep of the honor this season. The guard averaged 22 points, 8.5 rebounds, two assists, and 1.5 steals in two games for the week. The Brooklyn native went 9-17 from the field finishing the night with a double double, 24 points and 11 rebounds (both game highs), as CSI went on to win 90-68 over York. Pasaturo followed this performance with another 20-point outing as the Dolphins blew out Medgar Evers 75-27. This also marked the freshman’s fourth straight 20+ point game. Staten Island is now 9-8 overall and 6-2 in conference play.

CCNY Beavers (4-12 Overall, 2-6 CUNYAC)

CCNY went 1-1 this past week with a win at St. Joseph's College Long Island (58-40) and a loss at Baruch (83-57).

Lehman Lighting (11-5 Overall, 5-3 CUNYAC)
Last Week (1-1 Overall, 1-1 CUNYAC)

In Lehman's two games this week, Karrin Walker scored in double figures in both of them. Against Baruch, on Wednesday, Walker tallied 16 points and 12 rebounds, for a double-double. In Lehman's 74-72 come-from-behind CUNYAC victory over Hunter, Walker helped Lehman's rally by scoring all 17 of her points in the second half, including three traditional three-point plays. She also added nine rebounds.

Staten Island Dolphins (9-8 Overall, 6-2 CUNYAC)

Christina has posted four straight 20+ point games and led all scorers with 24 points against York and 20 against MEC despite playing just 23 minutes on Saturday. For the season she is averaging 16.2 points per game and 6.1 rebounds per game.

Baruch Bearcats (12-4 Overall, 9-0 CUNYAC)

Scored 16 points, grabbed nine rebounds and notched four assists in a win versus rival Lehman College...Shot 7-12 from the floor, scoring 20 points with eight rebounds in a victory over CCNY. During the CCNY game, Francess tallied her 1000th career point. For the week Francess averaged, 18.0 points and 8.5 rebounds per game.

Baruch went 2-0 for the week, both wins coming against conference opponents. To start the week the defeated rival Lehman College, 70-56, in a tough road contest. They finished the week with a victory over CCNY, bringing their conference record to a perfect 9-0 for the season. During the CCNY game, Francess Henry scored her 1,000th career point to become the 12th player in team history to reach the milestone.

John Jay Bloodhounds (3-11 Overall, 3-5 CUNYAC)
Last Week (2-1 Overall, 2-0 CUNYAC)

Sophomore Brianna Cunningham recorded 51 points, 25 rebounds, five assists, five blocks, and four steals. In a conference game against York College, the forward registered 21 points, five rebounds, and three assists. She followed that up against College of Saint Elizabeth with her seventh double-double of the season with 15 points, 11 rebounds, two assists, two blocks, and two steals.

The Bloodhounds went 2-1 for the week, including going 2-0 in the conference. John Jay defeated Medgar Evers, 60-40, and followed that up with a 74-71 win over the York Cardinals.

Medgar Evers Cougars (1-15 Overall, 0-8 CUNYAC)
Last Week (0-2 Overall, 0-2 CUNYAC)

The Women's Basketball team went 0-2 this week. On Wednesday, January. 14, the Cougars fell to the John Jay Bloodhounds 60-40. The Cougars would travel to Staten Island, NY, and battle the Dolphins on Saturday, January. 17. They would fall to CSI 72-25.

Hunter Hawks (5-11 Overall, 3-5 CUNYAC)
Last Week (0-3 Overall, 0-2 CUNYAC)

The Hunter Hawks played three games last week losing all three to NYU, Brooklyn College and Lehman College, dropping their record to 5-11 overall and 3-5 in CUNYAC play. Despite the lack of a win, the Hawks got some of their most balanced scoring of the season. Joey Chan, Ayanna Hudson and Krissi Thomopoulos all put forward double-digit performances last week to go along with the leading scorer in CUNYAC Kristen Markoe. This week the Hawks will take on Ramapo College, College of Staten Island and Baruch College.

York Cardinals (4-11 Overall, 2-6 CUNYAC)

York started off the week right with a win over USMMA on January 12, but fell to CUNYAC opponents, Staten Island John Jay later in the week.

Brooklyn Bulldogs (10-5 Overall, 7-1 CUNYAC)
Last Week (2-0 Overall, 1-0 CUNYAC)

Senior Forward Megan Campbell averaged a near double-double on the week, averaging 14.0 points and 9.5 rebounds per game. Campbell logged in 24.5 minutes per contest, while starting in both games. She shot 43.5% (10-for-23) from the field and 88.9% (8-for-9) from the line. In a win against Hunter, Campbell finished with 12 points and 11 rebounds, her sixth double-double of the season. To conclude the week in the win over Farmingdale State, Campbell scored 16 points, to go with eight rebounds.

Freshman Chrissy Heyer had a career week for the Brooklyn College Women's Basketball team, averaging 14.0 points per game, shooting 52.9% (9-for-17) from the field and 50.0% (8-for-16) from three. Heyer had a breakout game against Farmingdale State going 6-for-9 from three en route to a career--high of 22 points.
