NEW YORK - Highlighted by First Team selection
Alexa Charles (Hunter), a total of six CUNY Athletic Conference women's basketball players were recognized on the Met Basketball Writers Association Division III All-Met Teams announced on Monday.
The conference had three Second Team selections in
Heaven Figueroa (Lehman),
Brianna Jackson (Brooklyn) and
Michaela Lattimore (John Jay). Brooklyn's
Anna Kitch was a Third Team selection, while Hunter's
Gianna Henriques was named Honorable Mention.
Being named All-Met is unique in that there are 35 colleges and universities and more than 500 players under the MBWA Division III women’s umbrella.
The 2025-26 All-Met teams will be honored at the 92nd MBWA Haggerty Awards dinner on Thursday, April 23, at the Sleepy Hollow Hotel & Conference Center in Tarrytown, NY. The Haggerty dinner is the longest running, media-managed college basketball awards program in the United States.
Charles, the CUNYAC Player of the Year, was named an All-American by both the Women's Basketball Coaches Association and D3hoops.com. She led Division III in scoring (30.9 ppg) and steals (6.2 spg) while also contributing 8.2 rebounds and 3.0 assists per game for the conference tournament champion Hawks. Charles shot 50.3% from the floor and 81% from the free throw line and finished her career as the all-time leading scorer in CUNYAC women's basketball history and the fourth all-time leading scorer in Division III history with 2,693 career points and the Division III career steals record holder with 576.
Figueroa, a First Team All-Conference selection, averaged 18.3 points per game while adding 6.5 rebounds and 5.7 steals per game. She ranked second nationally behind Charles in steals per game.
Jackson a First Team All-Conference selection, led the conference and ranked No. 2 nationally in assists per game with 6.8 helpers per contest. She also recorded 13.2 points per game and dished out double-digit assists on six occasions.
Lattimore, also a First Team All-Conference member, led the Bloodhounds in scoring (15.6 ppg) and rebounding (14.8 rpg) while registering 23 double-doubles. The junior ranked third in Division III in double-doubles and sixth in rebounds per game.
Kitch led the Bulldogs in rebounding (9.8 rpg) while ranking second in scoring (11.9 ppg) and knocking down a team-high 44 three-pointers. She also earned First Team All-CUNYAC honors this past season.
Henriques earned First Team All-Conference honors after registering 10.1 points and a team-high 9.3 rebounds per game this season for Hunter. She also led the Hawks and the conference with 72 blocked shots.
