Nellya Blinova has been named the first CUNYAC/Hospital for Special Surgery Women’s Tennis Player of the Week for the 2012 season. The sophomore has outstanding performances in her two matches as the Lightning was victorious 7-2 over NYU-Poly. In singles play, she did not lose a single point as she went 6-0, 6-0 at first singles. At first doubles, Blinova and her partner won 8-2 to give Lehman the edge.

Amandine Le Goupil-Maier has been named the first CUNYAC/Hospital for Special Surgery Women’s Tennis Rookie of the Week for the 2012 season. The rookie began her Bearcat career with a tough doubles loss. Playing first doubles with teammate Patricia Correia, the duo lost 8-6. In singles play, she bounced back to win second singles 6-3,6-1 over Purchase’s Moriah Ormsby.
