2025 CUNYAC Women's Tennis All-Conference Awards and Teams Announced

NEW YORK - The 2025 CUNY Athletic Conference women's tennis All-Conference awards and teams were announced Friday morning.

Baruch junior Aishika Yadav was named the conference's Player of the Year.  Hunter freshman Isabella Tchij earned Rookie of the Year honors, while Hawks head coach Alex Trezos was selected by his peers as the Coach of the Year.  Lehman's Elizabeth Nlemchukwu was honored as the recipient of the Sportsmanship Award.

Player of the Year: Aishika Yadav, Baruch (Jr., Fresh Meadows, N.Y.)

Yadav is the sixth consecutive Bearcat to earn Player of the Year honors.  Ava Deguzman earned the award in each of the past four seasons, while Hailey Feurer collected the honor in 2019.

A four-time CUNYAC/HSS Player of the Week, Yadav was unbeaten in singles play, going 12-0 and 6-0 in conference during the regular season at No. 1.  Against conferene competition, she dropped just four singles games.  In doubles play, Yadav went 10-2 overall and 5-1 in CUNYAC play while leading Baruch to its sixth straight conference championship finals appearance.

Rookie of the Year: Isabella Tchij, Hunter (Fr., Brooklyn, N.Y.)

Tchij is the first Rookie of the Year for the Hawks since Sevinch Rakhmatdinova collected the honor in 2022.

Tchij, who earned CUNYAC/HSS Rookie of the Week honors twice, was 6-2 and 4-1 in CUNYAC play in singles, playing in the No. 1 spot, as she led the Hawks to an unbeaten regular season and the program's first regular season title since 2022.  In doubles play Tchij posted a 7-1 record, including 4-1 against conference foes.

Coach of the Year: Alex Trezos, Hunter

Trezos was named the Coach of the Year in women's tennis for the third time in his career.  This season, he guided the Hawks to a 9-0 mark during the regular season, including an unbeaten CUNYAC slate, and the program's first regular season title since 2022.  On Thursday Hunter captured the conference tournament championship for the second straight season and the accompanying automatic berth to the 2026 NCAA Division III Women's Tennis Championship.
