Hawks' McKenna Earns Top Player Nod & Bearcats' Henry Named As Top Rookie

MEGAN MCKENNA, Hunter

Guard/5-foot-8/Graduate Student/Rockaway, NY/Midwood

Megan McKenna garners top player of the week after helping the Hawks to a pair of conference victories this past week. The guard tallied 40 points, 14 rebounds and five steals shooting 55.6% on the field. The Rockaway native finished with 19 points against York College (Jan. 25) with seven rebounds, five assists and two steals on .462 shooting (6-for-13 FG) and 7-for-9 on the free throw line. She went on to score 21 points in a key victory over CSI (Jan. 27) netting 9-for-14 on the floor, 3-for-3 on the free throw line with seven rebounds. McKenna finished the week with six assists and five steals en route to helping the Hawks remain in first place atop the North Division in the conference.

FRANCESS HENRY, Baruch

Guard/5-foot-10/Freshman/Brooklyn, NY/Midwood

Rookie Francess Henry went 14-for-30 from the floor, totaling 38 points in Baruch’s three victories of the week. Henry started the week being perfect on the free throw line (5-for-5 FT) scoring seven points with three rebounds and two assists. The freshman guard followed that performance shooting 6-for-11 on the floor scoring 15 points in the 107-34 win over Medgar Evers (Jan. 25). The Brooklyn native had 16 points in the win against York (Jan. 27) shooting 7-for-12 on the floor with four assists and two rebounds.
