BRONX, N.Y. — [March 5, 2026] — Lehman College has announced the appointment of Reindorf Kyei as the next Head Coach of the Lehman Lightning Women's Soccer program. Kyei brings a diverse background in collegiate coaching, youth development, and soccer operations, along with a strong commitment to student-athlete growth on and off the field.
Kyei currently serves as an assistant coach at John Jay College of Criminal Justice, where he supports the design and execution of training sessions focused on performance, team cohesion, and tactical development. His coaching approach emphasizes purposeful, game-relevant training designed to strengthen decision-making and prepare athletes for competitive match environments.
In addition to his collegiate coaching experience, Kyei has been actively involved in youth development as a coach with New York City FC Youth Programs in the Bronx, training goalkeepers and mentoring youth coaches. His work focuses on building strong technical foundations, confidence, and a love for the game among young players.
Kyei also serves as Soccer Operations Coordinator with South Bronx United, where he manages team logistics, player development initiatives, and college recruiting support for student-athletes. His leadership has included creating pathways for volunteers and alumni to transition into coaching roles and supporting travel teams and summer programs.
"We are tremendously excited for Reindorf to lead our women's soccer program. He comes not only from a winning program at John Jay, but with years of experience as an administrator and a coach at South Bronx United," commented Ryan McCarthy, Directo of Athletics. "We are certain he will restore our program's winning tradition."
Kyei expressed excitement about the opportunity to lead the Lightning.
"I'm honored to join Lehman College and lead the women's soccer program," said Kyei. "My goal is to build a competitive, disciplined, and united team culture where student-athletes can grow as players, students, and leaders. I'm excited to get to work and represent Lehman with pride."
A graduate of Bloomfield College, Kyei earned a Bachelor of Science in International Business in 2018 and holds CPR certification.
As head coach, Kyei will oversee all aspects of the women's soccer program, including recruiting, player development, training, and competition, as the Lightning continue to build toward success in the City University of New York Athletic Conference.
