NEW YORK - Baruch College has won the 2024-25 CUNY Athletic Conference (CUNYAC) Commissioner's Cup. It marks the fourth straight year and 12th time overall that the Bearcats have claimed the Commissioner's Cup. They were presented with the trophy at the Michael Steuerman Scholar-Athlete Awards Banquet at Terrace on the Park Thursday night.
The Commissioner's Cup annually recognizes the strongest athletic program in the CUNY Athletic Conference as determined by a scoring system which rewards a school for success during both regular season and championship competition.
Baruch finished with 135 points to outdistance Hunter, which compiled 115 points. John Jay finished third with 84 points.
The Bearcats finished with tournament titles in men's swimming and diving, men's volleyball, men's tennis and baseball. Baruch also claimed regular season championships in women's tennis, men's and women's swimming and diving, men's basketball, men's volleyball and men's tennis, while finishing in a three-way tie for first in baseball.
Hunter captured conference championships in men's and women's cross country, men's soccer, women's tennis, women's swimming and diving and women's outdoor track and field. The Hawks were regular season champions in women's volleyball and women's basketball.
John Jay took conference tournament crowns in women's soccer, women's volleyball, men's basketball and softball. The Bloodhounds were regular season champs in women's soccer and softball.
Brooklyn placed fourth following its tournament title in women's basketball and scoring points in 10 sports. Medgar Evers earned championships in men's and women's indoor and men's outdoor track and field to come in fifth.
Lehman finished as regular season champions in men's soccer and reached the conference title game in both men's and women's soccer to come in sixth. CCNY earned the baseball regular season title and tied for the top spot in men's soccer en route to its seventh-place finish.
