FLUSHING, N.Y. - The City University of New York Athletic Conference (CUNYAC) announced its men's cross country All-Star Awards and All-Star Team for 2024 recently. The All-Star Team is based on the finishing order of the 2024 CUNYAC Men's Cross Country Championship held on October 27.
Frank Ferrante of Brooklyn College was selected as the CUNYAC Runner of the Year, while
Melvil Badier of Hunter College was named CUNYAC Rookie of the Year.
Eric Schrick, in his first year as head coach at Brooklyn, was named Coach of the Year.
Ferrante, a senior, was selected as the CUNYAC Runner of the Week during the season and finished fourth at the conference championships. He opened the season by winning the Purchase Invitational and finished eighth in a field of Division I, II and III runners at the Manhattan College Invitational.
Badier claimed CUNYAC Rookie of the Week accolades twice during the season. At the conference championship he placed fifth overall, helping the Hawks to the CUNYAC championship.
Schrick guided the Bulldogs to a third place finish at the CUNYAC Championship as they had four runners place in the top 10, the most of any competing school. Brooklyn posted its second straight third place finish at the conference meet.
