NEW YORK, N.Y. (May 13, 2018) - In a race that came down to the wire, the City College of New York hoisted the 2018 CUNYAC/Army ROTC Men's Outdoor Track and Field Championship on Sunday at Icahn Stadium at Randall's Island.
The Beavers made it eight league titles in a row, dating back to 2011, with a 188-point finish. Hunter College nearly dethroned CCNY, totaling 182 points. Lehman College was third with 94 points, while York College (70 points) and Medgar Evers College (50 points) rounded out the scoring.
"I am so proud of our men's team for persevering and earning a well-deserved championship," said CCNY Head Coach
Demetrius Murray. "We were down a few critical athletes, and to still be able to come up with a victory, says a lot about the heart and mental toughness of this program. We all had to battle through some pretty tough weather conditions to do it."
