CUNYAC Intramural Championship Series Presented by Municipal Credit Union

The 2017 CUNYAC/MCU Intramural Indoor Soccer Championship took place Friday, April 21st at Queens College. Teams of six to ten players brought their skills to the Fitzgerald Gymnasium to play 10 minute matches in a double elimination format for a chance to be named Intramural Indoor Soccer Champions. In what was a lively and competitive event, only one team could walk out victorious. That honor went to Tottenham by a score of 2-0 in an comeback championship game against Manchester United.

The first match of the day saw Manchester United from Queens College take on the Tottenham, a mix of CUNY schools including CCNY and Kingsborough.Manchester United used their home court advantage to breeze their way to a 3-0 victory. They watched on as the next game, a bout between the Rangers of Queens College and Kingsborough. Kingsborough took a 1-0 win after 10 minutes of action.

The third game of the day was a match between Tottenham and the Rangers in an elimination game. Tottenham would soar to victory with a 2-1 win. They followed up with another win against Kingsborough, which led them to the championship game.

With no losses thus far, Manchester United was in the championship match with a chance to win the title in the first game. However, Tottenham’s hot streak continued as they won the first match in overtime. With the momentum on their side, Tottenham cruised to a 2-0 victory in the final to win the championship.
