CUNYAC Intramural Championship Series Presented by the Municipal Credit Union

The fourth annual CUNYAC/MCU Intramural Championship Series continued with bowling at Jib Lanes in Queens, NY. The tournament featured 10  participants across four campuses. In the end, it was Hyun Sung Shin, scoring a 236,  taking home the title as he  took down former champion Damian Walsh of Queens College, who was the three seed going into the finals and scored a 207. Third place would go to Xavior Alexander from Queensborough CC who scored 172.

“I just bowled,” said Shin. “I came here just to have fun and bowled well enough to win it all.”

Bowlers bowled three qualifying games in which the top five series advanced to a final game due to time constraints. It took a minimum series of 385 to advance to the finals.

Xavior Alexander from Queensborough CC was the top player to enter the final round as he finished his series with a total score of 681, including a second game where he bowled 11 strikes for a total score of 270.

The finals were rounded out by fourth place Jaron Yu from Queens College who finished with a score of 171. Fifth place went to CSI’s Corinne Mignano who bowled a 111 in the final round.

With bowling complete, the attention turns to March 17, 2017 when the CUNYAC/MCU Intramural Championship Series continues with 3 on 3 basketball at Hunter College. Check out the schedule at the top of the story for the other events.
