2026 CUNYAC Preseason Poll/Players to Watch
CUNYAC Women's Tennis Player of the Week
Isabella Tchij, Hunter (So., Brooklyn, N.Y.)
Tchij went undefeated at the No. 1 position while helping Hunter record a pair of team sweeps. She earned a 6-2, 6-1 singles victory and a 6-1 doubles win against St. Joseph’s Long Island before adding a 7-6, 6-4 singles triumph and a 6-2 doubles victory in the Hawks’ second match of the week against Farmingdale State.
CUNYAC Women's Tennis Rookie of the Week
Anusha Yadav, Baruch (Fr., Queens, N.Y.)
Yadav won both of her matches to help Baruch defeat St. Joseph’s Long Island and improve to 3-0 on the season. She posted a 6-0, 6-0 victory at No. 2 singles and teamed with fellow rookie Cindy Joyette for a 6-2 win at No. 2 doubles.
CUNYAC Women's Tennis Player of the Week (Honorable Mention)
Pallavi Verghese, Pratt (Sr., Fayetteville, Ark.)
Verghese won at first singles and first doubles to help Pratt open its season with a 7-0 road sweep of Bard. She teamed with Beatrice Crespo for a 6-2 doubles victory before posting a 6-0, 6-0 win in singles play.
