No. 1 Baruch, No. 2 Hunter Advance to 2026 CUNYAC/HSS Men's Tennis Final

FLUSHING, N.Y. - The top two seeds advanced to the finals of the 2026 CUNY Athletic Conference/HSS Men's Tennis Championship with semifinal victories Sunday at the USTA National Tennis Center.  Top seed and defending champion Baruch dispatched No. 4 seed Albertus Magnus 4-0, while No. 2 seed Hunter downed third-seeded Brooklyn 4-1.

The Bearcats and Hawks are set to meet on Thursday at the USTA National Tennis Center at 3 pm with the conference championship and a trip to the NCAA Tournament on the line.
Baruch 4, Albertus Magnus 0

Baruch (14-2) jumped out to an early lead after taking the doubles point.  Sam Park and Ryan Huang were 6-0 winners at No. 2 doubles, while Joshua Bey and Anlact Huynh blanked their opponents at No. 3.

In singles, Park claimed the first singles point with a 6-0, 6-0 win at No. 2.  Bey took a straight set victory at No. 4, while Huynh clinched the match with a 6-0, 6-0 win at No. 6.  

Baruch is appearing in the finals for the 14th straight season and will be seeking its eighth straight title on Thursday.
Hunter 4, Brooklyn 1

The Hawks (7-6) punched their ticket to the CUNYAC final for the first time since 2023.  Brooklyn took an early 1-0 lead in doubles after Allen Mardakhayev and Dennis Shender won at No. 2 (6-3), but the Hawks took the point on wins by Nicholas Cooper and Alexander Hagiu at No. 1 (6-4) and Jason Parmar and Nicholas Douglas at No. 3 (6-4).

Savio Francis earned Hunter's first singles point at No. 4 (6-4, 6-1), followed by Odin Dibra's 6-0, 6-3 win at No. 3.  Christopher Vasquez earned the first Bulldog point of the day at No. 6 (6-3, 6-1) before Hagiu clinched the match with a 6-4, 6-1 win at No. 2.  Both unfinished matches were heading to a third set when play was halted.
