INDIANAPOLIS – The CUNY Athletic Conference volleyball champion, New Jersey City, will face Buffalo State in the play-in round of the 2026 NCAA Men's Volleyball Championship on Thursday, April 16 at 6:30 pm Eastern in a match to be played at Springfield College in Springfield, Mass.
Thursday's winner between the Bearcats and Bengals will advance to take on the host Pride on Friday at 4 pm.
NJCU is making its first-ever NCAA appearance after downing Baruch 3-1 in the CUNYAC title match on Friday night. The Gothic Knights' Alex Casais was named Championship MVP after quarterbacking the offense with 36 assists as NJCU hit .281 on the night.
Buffalo State (28-4) is in the NCAA tournament for the second straight season after winning the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) title with a 3-0 win over Penn State Behrend. The Bengals fell to Baruch in their tournament debut a season ago.
