MAHWAH, N.J. - In the opening round of the 2026 ECAC Division III Men's Volleyball Championship Wednesday night, fifth-seeded Ramapo defeated Hunter in five sets, 3-2 (22-25, 21-25, 25-21, 25-17, 15-11).The Hawks finish their season 17-10 overall, while the Roadrunners are now 13-12 and advance to Friday's semifinal at top-seeded Rutgers-Newark.
Hunter finished with 54 kills on a .264 hitting percentage, led by Ahmed Mohamed with a match-high 32 kills on .407 hitting while also contributing four service aces. Sebastian Gomez added nine kills, while K-Ci Akwandoh contributed four. Lenny Arbitman and Brandon Yeh combined for 44 assists, and Bradley Campos recorded seven digs. Hunter totaled seven service aces and six blocks.
Ramapo recorded 56 kills on .269 hitting, led by Jan Tracz with 20 kills and Amari Menter with 12. Justin Hidalgo added 10 kills, and Joseph Duca dished out 44 assists to go along with 10 digs. Ramapo also totaled 10 service aces and nine blocks. The match featured 26 ties and 15 lead changes, with Ramapo hitting .348 in the fourth set to force a deciding fifth.
Hunter was making its second straight ECAC tournament appearance.
