Maria Calvo Prado, Baruch (Jr., Palmira, Colombia)
Calvo Prado led Baruch to a 7-0 CUNYAC home win over Lehman, helping the Bearcats stay unbeaten in conference play. She cruised to a 6-2, 6-0 victory at third singles and paired with Aishika Yadav for a 6-1 win at first doubles, lifting Baruch to 2-0 in CUNYAC.
CUNYAC Women's Tennis Rookie of the Week
Lucia Herranz Sanchez, Baruch (Fr., Madrid, Spain)
Herranz Sanchez made an impressive intercollegiate debut in Baruch’s 7-0 home win over Lehman. The rookie from Madrid dominated second singles with a 6-0, 6-1 victory, then teamed up with Jacqueline Moreno for a hard-fought 6-4 win at second doubles to complete her perfect day.
CUNYAC Women’s Tennis Player of the Week (Honorable Mention)
Alexis Goodman, Brooklyn (Fr., Brooklyn, N.Y.)
In Brooklyn's lone match of the week, Goodman went undefeated on Saturday against Sarah Lawrence. She began the afternoon with a 7-5 victory at top-flight singles and completed her day with a (6-2, 6-3) win at No. 1 singles.
