CUNYAC Women’s Tennis Player of the Week
Aishika Yadav (Jr., Fresh Meadows, N.Y.)
Yadav won both of her singles matches and went 1-1 in doubles in a 1-1 week for the Bearcats. Against St. Joseph's-Long Island on Thursday, she won 6-0, 6-2 at No. 1 singles and dropped No. 1 doubles 6-4. In a conference win against Albertus Magnus Saturday, Yadav won 6-0, 6-0 at No. 1 singles and was victorious 6-0 in doubles.
CUNYAC Women's Tennis Rookie of the Week
Isabella Tchij, Hunter (Fr., Brooklyn, N.Y.)
In her collegiate debut, Tchij was a 6-4, 6-1 winner at No. 1 singles against Purchase, and was also a 6-4 winner at No. 1 doubles in a 7-0 sweep.
CUNYAC Women’s Tennis Player of the Week (Honorable Mention)
Gabriela Vargas, Lehman (Jr., Paterson, N.J.)
In singles play last week, Vargas was a 6-0, 6-0 winner against Mount Saint Vincent and a 6-1, 6-0 winner against Sarah Lawrence at No. 1. In doubles action, she and Amya Sanchez prevailed 6-4 at No. 1 against UMSV and fell 7-5 against Sarah Lawrence.
