INDIANAPOLIS - 2025 CUNY Athletic Conference softball champion John Jay will travel to Gettysburg, Pa. for regional play in the 2025 NCAA Division III Softball Championship beginning Thursday. The Bloodhounds (30-9) will take on the host Bullets (38-6) in their opening game on Thursday, May 15 at 11 am.
The Gettysburg regional also features Ramapo (31-9), an at-large selection from the New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) and MIT (28-10), the NEWMAC champion.
The Bloodhounds claimed their third-straight CUNYAC title after defeating Baruch, 5-1, in the championship finale this past Saturday. LIndsay Ogden posted her league-leading 13th win of the season and recorded her 15th complete game. She allowed one run on four hits, while walking four and striking out en route to being named Tournament MVP.
Gettysburg finished 38-6 on the season, earned their first at-large bid in program history, and hosted the four-team regional for the first time after dropping to Swarthmore, 9-2, in the Centennial Conference (CC) tournament. The Bullets are making their sixth NCAA tournament appearance, which will be the first-ever meeting between the two schools.
Ramapo and MIT meet in Thursday's other first-round game at approximately 1:30 p.m. The losers will meet in the first elimination game on Friday at 11 a.m. while the winners will matchup 50 minutes following the conclusion of that game with the winner advancing to Saturday's regional final. Friday's action concludes with a second elimination game between the winner of the day's first contest and the loser of the day's second game. That winner advances to Saturday's final and would need to win twice to advance to the super regionals the following weekend.
