Gettysburg, PA - After trailing 5-0 in the bottom of the sixth when play was halted, the three-time CUNYAC softball champions, John Jay College Bloodhounds, fell to the Ramapo College Roadrunners by that mark, concluding their 2025 season.

The Roadrunners scored all five runs in the opening inning of the contest. Iglesias walked the bases loaded before Graham came on. Graham issued a walk to Kontura as Ramapo took the 1-0 lead. The next batter, Otero, doubled to left center that plated home a pair.
Diaz sent an RBI grounded out that scored Kontura to make it 4-0 in favor of the Roadrunners before Hensler sent a sacrifice fly to center.
The Bloodhounds' defense kept them in the contest, as John Jay set an NCAA Division III Softball Championship record, recording four double-plays.
In the top of the second, Hasting popped into the first double play of the day, as she flew out to Sandel out short for the second out. Sandel fired a strike to Gallaspy, who ran Clay'le Correa-Vanness back to third before
Kendal Bryant applied the tag.
Gargiulo led off the top of the third with a double. With one out, Otero worked a walk, giving the Roadrunners a pair of runners. The next batter, Diaz, lined out to
Angelina Schoelles at first, who doubled up Otero for John Jay's second inning-ending double play of the day.
In the top of the fifth, Rygiel singled to center and Hastings reached on an infield single back to Graham. Following a fly out from Garguilo, Kontura flied into Ramapo's third inning-ending double-play, flying out to center field as
Kelly Fajardo fired a laser to Bryant to get Rygiel trying to advance.
John Jay produced their fourth inning-ending double play. A walk to Otero started the inning. Following a sacrifice bunt that moved pinch-runner Emily Reilly to second, Hensler flew out to Bankston in right for the second out, and Bankston sent a laser to Bryant at third for the final out.
In the bottom of the seventh, Paoli singled through the left side. Bankston added a single to center for her second hit of the day, as John Jay threatened for their first runs.
With Schoelles in the box, the Bloodhounds tried a double steal, but Paoli was thrown out at third while Bankston moved to second. With the count at 2-1, Schoelles got under the ball and lofted a deep fly to center that concluded the game and John Jay's season.
