2025 CUNYAC Men's Tennis Major Awards, All-Stars Announced

NEW YORK - The 2025 CUNYAC men's tennis All-Stars and major awards were announced Friday morning.  The All-Star teams and major awards are voted upon by the league's head coaches.

Baruch's Juan Mendoza was chosen as the league's Player of the Year, while teammate Giovani De Santis III was named Rookie of the Year.  Bearcat head coach Gregory Wyzykowski was selected as Coach of the Year.  Taishawn Brownlee of Lehman was named the Sportsmanship Award winner.

Player of the Year: Juan Mendoza, Baruch

Mendoza led the Bearcats to the 2025 CUNYAC regular season title as well as the conference tournament championship.  In singles playing at No. 1 Mendoza finished 12-1, including 5-0 in conference competition.  In doubles play he went 13-2 playing primarily with Juan Paredes.

Rookie of the Year: Giovanni De Santis III, Baruch

De Santis posted a 6-1 overall singles record for Baruch, including 4-1 at No. 6, and was 4-0 against conference opponents during the regular season.  

Coach of the Year: Gregory Wyzykowski, Baruch

Wyzykowski guided Baruch to its seventh straight unbeaten conference regular season, going 5-0, and to the conference tournament championship this week.  He claims men's tennis Coach of the Year honors for the third time in four seasons.
