2024-25 Men's Swimming & Diving Postseason Awards, All-Star Teams Announced

FLUSHING. N.Y. - The City University of New York Athletic Conference (CUNYAC) announced its 2024-25 Men's Swimming and Diving Postseason Awards and All-Star teams on Friday morning.

Baruch senior Youssef Elkhouly was named the league's Swimmer of the Year, while the Bearcats' Lucas Vasquez was honored as the Rookie of the Year.  Baruch head coach Charles Lampasso was selected as the CUNYAC Coach of the Year.

Brooklyn's Nicholai Krylyk was named the winner of the Sportsmanship Award.

Swimmer of the Year: Youssef Elkhouly, Baruch

Elkhouly, was named CUNYAC Men's Swimmer of the Year for the second time in his career, with the first coming in 2022-23.  During the season he became Baruch's all-time leading scorer, and he was undefeated against CUNYAC competition this year.  Elkhouly, who was named CUNYAC Men's Swimmer of the Week four times and qualified for the ECAC Open, set Baruch records in the 100 butterfly and 200 freestyle.  At the conference championship he was named Most Valuable Performer as he took individual wins in the 200 backstroke, 50 freestyle and 100 butterfly while leading Baruch to its seventh straight conference title.

It marks the third major conference award for Elkhouly, as he was Rookie of the Year in 2021-22.

Rookie of the Year: Lucas Vasquez, Baruch

Vasquez was unbeaten against conference competition and was a five-time CUNYAC Rookie of the Week in 2024-25.  He qualified for the ECAC Open both individually and as part of Bearcat relays.  At the conference championship Vasquez posted second place finishes in the 50 freestyle and 100 freestyle while being a member of all four Baruch relays that won gold, including swimming anchor in the 200 and 400 medley relays.

Coach of the Year: Charles Lampasso, Baruch

Lampasso earned men's Coach of the Year honors for the seventh straight year and 13th time in his career.  He guided the Bearcats to a 6-1 overall record and the CUNYAC regular season title as Baruch went unbeaten in conference for the seventh straight season.  Baruch went on to win its seventh conference championship this past weekend.
