CUNYAC Men’s Basketball Player of the Week
Joshua Jackman, York (So., F, Jamaica, N.Y.)
Jackman averaged 22.0 points and 8.5 rebounds per game in a 1-1 week for the Cardinals. He poured in 29 points on 11-25 shooting (5-12 3PT) and had six rebounds in a setback to Manhattanville. In the conference opener against Medgar Evers, Jackman recorded a double-double (15 pts, 11 reb) and played all 40 minutes in a 72-66 victory.
CUNYAC Men’s Basketball Rookie of the Week
JP Maaba, Hunter (Fr., G, Queens, N.Y.)
Maaba averaged 12.0 points and 6.0 assists in two games for the Hawks, who went 1-1. He notched six points and five assists in a win over Mount Saint Vincent, then led Hunter with 18 points and seven assists in the conference opener against Baruch Friday.
CUNYAC Men’s Basketball Player of the Week (Honorable Mention)
Ricardo Dixon, Lehman (Sr., F, Bronx, N.Y.)
Dixon averaged 16.5 points and 11 rebounds per game in a 1-1 week for the Lightning while also blocking six shots. He finished with 13 points and 12 rebounds in Wednesday's loss to St. Joseph's Brooklyn, then went 8-14 from the floor and tallied 20 points and 10 rebounds in the Lightning win against John Jay to open conference play Saturday.
