CUNYAC Men’s Basketball Player of the Week
Joe Charles, Brooklyn (So., G, Queens Village, N.Y.)
Charles scored 30 points and grabbed eight rebounds in Brooklyn's 64-58 win against Merchant Marine on Tuesday night. He went 5-11 from three and 10-24 from the floor overall.
CUNYAC Men’s Basketball Rookie of the Week
JP Maaba, Hunter (Fr., G, Queens, N.Y.)
Maaba registered 11 points, six assists and three steals as the Hawks topped Old Westbury for their first victory of the season. Maaba went 5-9 from the floor en route to his third straight Rookie of the Week honor.
CUNYAC Men’s Basketball Player of the Week (Honorable Mention)
Demetrios Kontos, Hunter (So., F, Queens, N.Y.)
Kontos knocked down five three-pointers and finished with 21 points and nine rebounds as Hunter downed Old Westbury on Tuesday evening. He went 5-9 behind the arc and 8-15 overall from the floor.
